Marmara is a village on the side of Vardousia (pronounced Vardoussia) mountains in central Greece. It is a destination for everyone seeking a getaway from city life. It is a perfect destinations for naturalists. It is perfect for anyone seeking to do activities like rafting, riding a mountain bike in the forest, strolling into the forest among tall trees, walking paths and climbing cliffs and mountains. There are deep valleys with, oak trees and mountains with lots of wild animals in the forest. Hunters will love it as well. Many wild birds pass from there every year. In winter mountains are covered with snow and in spring almond trees blossom. There are many springs with cold water and waterfalls and streams and rivers with fishes. There are plains for camping. You can tase local wine, tsipouro, honey, nuts, almonds, apples and many other fruits. Marmara taverns are famous for high quality meat all from local animals.
In spring snow begins to melt. Birds are coming and the sky is blue more often.
If you go walking you shall find interesting plants and animals in the forest. The time for trips to the country and extreme sports activities definitely has arrived! Marmara is also called Seliani. Marmara Seliani is near Lamia. It is part of the municipality of Spercheiada.

To go to Marmara you reach Lamia. Then you take the road from Lamia to Karpenisi. At Makrakomi you take the direction to Spercheiada. Outside Spercheiada you will find a sign indicating the way to Marmara. It is a small road leading up the mountains and into the forest...

Summer
is magnifiscent up the mountains. You shall be amazed by the beautiful
landscapes that you will find there. The day is hot and it is ideal to visit the river Inachos and go for a pique nique there. You can also enjoy the beautiful sunset, sitting among the trees in deep forest. The night is cool with a breeze hard to find anywhere but on the mountains, in Greece, during summer.
